Greenwich

Project Details

Location: Greenwich, South east London

Perched high in one of South East London’s most sought after conservation areas, this expansive loft extension in Greenwich is all about elevating both space and perspective.

Designed with sensitivity to the period character of the property and the strict conservation guidelines in place, the project adds a generous new storey that feels both entirely modern and perfectly in keeping with the home’s original architecture.

Full width glazing across the rear floods the space with natural light and frames uninterrupted views across the London skyline.

Inside, we’ve created self-contained suite, sporting a bedroom, ensuite, and a cleverly integrated kitchenette. Brick slips were used to create a striking internal feature wall, adding texture and warmth.

From concept to completion, every detail was approached with care to ensure the new structure enhances rather than competes with its surroundings.

Our clients were a pleasure to work with and we hope they enjoy their newly extended home for many years to come.

The owner says...

Summit undertook a complete rebuild of our whole loft space including a reconfigured roof. This included craning multiple large steel beams (to support the new loft) across the roof, fitting a loft kitchen and bathroom, laying new floors etc. Summit’s pricing was not the cheapest however Vadym’s team delivered polite attentive service, tidiness, attention to detail and long work hours. There were people on site each day.

These massive projects are never straightforward or easy to co-ordinate. Vadym worked round delays from suppliers and helped us whenever we were in difficulties. For instance, when our bespoke window supplier took away the wrong windows and failed to complete the work, we were exposed to the elements – Vadym’s team returned to site quickly and made us watertight. We had a flood in our cellar – nothing to do with Summit – the team pumped it out without charge or question.

If any work was not up to scratch, Vadym saw it and dealt with it. It was a tough experience as we lived in the house with the works above us, however we always felt that the job would complete and that we we were in good hands. The finished loft is something to behold.
