Location: Aldersbrook, London
For this project we built a rear, double story extension with a new first floor bathroom, bespoke shelving, a utility room with W.C and a large patio area.
This was an enjoyable project to work on as it was full of interesting design quirks. Tiles where used as a feature to cover the extraction fan and shelving in the kitchen to creating a ‘floating’ effect and bricks were used artistically to partially cover a large window in the kitchen.
With plenty of skylights and a great use of lighting, this project has some real ‘Wow” factor.
The owner says...
“Summit do a lot of construction in this area, and having seen examples of their work, they were a fairly obvious choice of contractor to be added to the tender process. They were not necessarily the cheapest quote, however they insisted on doing the work within their own team so they could ensure quality, and they manage the build process from start to finish.
All Summit staff attending site were extremely polite, tidied up after themselves and nothing seemed to much trouble for them to minimise our inconvenience. We had a couple of surprises thrown in along the way (anyone embarking on a construction project should be in no doubt that this will happen!) and I was impressed by
the way Summit (particularly Julian) dealt with it.
I think a good measure of a contractor is how they deal with such unplanned events. Some see it as an opportunity to squeeze money out of the client, some offer little help as it wasn’t in the original plans. Summit were very pragmatic in their approach to such problems, offering sound advice and absorbing as much cost as they reasonably could.
In terms of the quality of the product, their level of finishing is excellent. The carpenter we had undertaking second fix was more of an artist than a tradesperson!
Thank you to Julian and the team, we are very happy with the end product and wouldn’t hesitate to use Summit again.
