Roebuck Lane Buckhurst Hill

Project Details

Location: Buckhurst Hill, Essex

For this large project in Buckhurst Hill, we demolished almost all of the existing property, leaving only the front and side walls.

We then built a three storey, five bedroom, five bathroom family home, complete with an office, dressing rooms, playroom, bespoke built in bar, a large patio area with steps down to the sizeable garden, fully insulated and rendered the exterior of the property and applied a resin to the front driveway.

For one of the bathrooms, the clients chose to use micro cement instead of of tiling which as well as being contemporary  in appearance with its seamless finish, its easy to maintain and as there are no gaps, it doesn’t harbour germs and bacteria.

This family were a pleasure to work with and we wish them well in their new home.

Check out the the ‘during renovation’ section below to see how the project evolved from a tired house in need of a revamp to the beautiful family home it is today.

The owner says...

Summit performed a large renovation on our house, essentially knocking down the original house (other than a few external walls) and doing a complete rebuild.  We chose Summit as we had watched them do a similar project around the corner from our house and noticed how hard they had worked and how quickly the project had been completed.  The owner, also kindly let us into the completed house and we were very impressed with the quality of finish.  We were therefore pleased that the quote we received for the work was competitive and we decided to proceed with Summit.

We had never done a house renovation before and were therefore apprehensive about the horror stories that you hear.  We can honestly say that Julian and the team at Summit were exceptional and we very quickly knew that we had 100% made the right choice.  All the builders were extremely polite, friendly, always on time, extremely hard working and clearly very good at what they do!  Julian managed the whole project from start to finish (we didn’t have an architect to project manage) and I think it was probably as stress free as it could have been.  Julian was very open to our ideas and also had plenty of great ideas himself.  We never got the impression that things were too much trouble and all the builders took pride in the work they were doing.  The very limited number of other trades that visited the house (windows / carpets) all commented, without prompting, about how impressed they were with the quality of the work and that no corners had been cut.

The quality of the finish was exceptional and Summit went above and beyond…one example was a bespoke bar that we had built in the main room, which has opening and slide away doors, which proved technically tricky to design and install but Julian and the team delivered, and there are many other examples –  the main carpenter we had on site was a genius!  Other than add-ons which we decided on during the build, Summit stuck to the original quote which we were really impressed with as I’m sure that some items were a bit trickier / took longer than they had originally quoted for.

We would have absolutely no hesitation in recommending Summit to family / friends and we were really impressed with the service they provided from start to finish – Thank you and keep up the excellent work!
